Multi-Media Collage
A
native of Pontiac Michigan, Don’s professional art career began with
painting and expanded to diverse media. He continued his artistic
education, much of it self-taught, while “making a living” as a
professional printer for 36 years. During those years, Don exhibited in
various Michigan shows, winning many awards while continuing his artistic
growth and skills. Kah began working with collage in 1995. He found this art form provided the opportunity to express his unique artistic ideas. Moving to Sebring, Florida in 1997 contributed new inspiration and a fresh variety of “found objects.” All of Don’s work is original, no prints are made, and his work has been so well received by Florida art patrons that he only does a few shows a year. The most striking feature of his intricate designs is that the viewer discovers something new or hidden with every glance. From “Best of Show” at the Highlands Fine Arts Festival, top prize at the National Collage Society’s Exhibit for all of North America to the Presidents Award, 2007 Lake Wales Art Show, Best of Show , 2006 Lake Placid Fine Art Show, Award of Merit, 2006 Fine Arts for Ocala, and Award of Excellence at the Lake Eustis Fine Arts Show, 2006, the awards keep piling up like the many layers of his amazing creations!
